Implementation Phase

Preparing for SafeContractor certification?

We help contractors and businesses get their health and safety documentation, policies and supporting evidence ready for a SafeContractor application.

As an independent health and safety consultancy, we do not issue SafeContractor certificates or approvals. What we do is help your business prepare properly before you apply, so you can move through the assessment process more efficiently and with greater confidence.

What Is SafeContractor?

SafeContractor is a widely recognised contractor certification scheme used by organisations to assess whether contractors meet required standards. For contractors working on client sites, the scheme is designed to check that your business meets relevant client requirements.

The assessment looks at more than just a basic health and safety policy. SafeContractor states that it collects and verifies information across health and safety, financial and ethical practices. Supporting evidence can include documents such as policies, risk assessments, training records, insurance details and other information that helps demonstrate compliance.

Many organisations, including construction firms, facilities management companies, local authorities and public sector bodies, require SafeContractor accreditation before allowing contractors to tender for or carry out work. Although it is not a legal requirement, it is often commercially essential.
